Happy and Healthy

Mental health encompasses the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of each individual. Mental health affects the way we think, feel, and act. Mental wellbeing also helps determine how we cope with stress, communicate with others, and make healthy choices in life. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood, adolescence to adulthood. At Wellcare, we provide online counseling and psychological therapy services to help you regain balance and improve your quality of life.

Telepsychiatry is a form of mental health care provided through teleconsultation with psychiatrists or psychologists. Online psychological therapy has been considered an effective alternative to traditional in-person consultation and treatment, thanks to the following advantages:

Cost-Saving

Clients do not need to travel to the counseling office, saving time, effort, and travel expenses.

Convenience

Clients can meet and talk to psychiatrists and psychological counselors or therapists from anywhere in the world, especially for individuals with mobility issues or those living in rural areas with limited access to mental health services.

Reduced Social Pressure

Online psychological counseling and therapy help us overcome social barriers and prejudices, allowing us to share and converse in a safe environment.

High Effectiveness and Efficiency

Studies have demonstrated that telepsychiatry is equally effective as in-person therapy, often leading to faster progress and higher patient satisfaction.

Our psychiatrists and psychologists are not only willing to listen, but are also skilled experts who motivate, encourage positive change, and foster personal growth for their clients.

Safety and Security

All information related to each counseling session is kept strictly confidential. We have implemented measures to ensure the safety of user information, and we use industry-standard encryption protocols to protect data transmission and storage. Our system also complies with relevant privacy laws and regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Scope of Counseling

With over 20 experienced clinical psychologists from diverse research backgrounds, we can support a wide range of mental health issues, from the need for a listening ear and emotional support, to more serious psychological disorders requiring active intervention or therapy.

1. For Individuals:

  • Anxiety and Stress: Experiencing excessive worry, fear, or panic? Online therapy can help manage conditions like generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.
  • Depression: Struggling with persistent sadness, loss of interest, or difficulty with daily activities? Our therapists offer remote treatment to help you overcome depression and improve your quality of life.
  • Trauma and PTSD: Find relief from the impact of traumatic experiences through online therapy. Our therapists specialize in trauma-focused treatments like EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to support your healing journey.
  • Substance Abuse and Addiction: Online therapy provides a confidential space to address substance abuse and addiction. Receive personalized support, coping strategies, and relapse prevention guidance.

2. For Adolescents:

Beyond addressing anxiety, depression, and substance abuse, our therapists are also experienced in working with adolescents on common challenges such as:

  • Self-esteem and body image: Many teens struggle with self-esteem and body image issues that can impact their overall well-being. Online therapy provides a private space to explore these concerns, develop a positive body image, and foster self-acceptance.
  • Peer relationships and bullying: The teenage years can be challenging as individuals navigate friendships and potential bullying experiences. Online counseling can help teens build healthy relationships, develop coping mechanisms for bullying, and improve social skills.
  • Academic pressure: Adolescents often face significant academic pressures, including high expectations, test anxiety, and college admissions stress. Remote mental health services can equip teens with effective stress management techniques and help them develop healthy study habits.

3. For Couples:

Strengthen your relationship with the support of our experienced therapists. We offer online counseling to help couples navigate common challenges:

  • Communication Issues: Enhance your ability to connect, understand, and resolve conflicts through open and honest dialogue.
  • Conflict Resolution: Learn effective strategies to manage disagreements and build a stronger partnership.
  • Infidelity and Trust: Rebuild trust, overcome challenges, and foster a renewed sense of intimacy.
  • Intimacy and Sexuality: Explore ways to enhance your physical and emotional connection, addressing sexual concerns and improving satisfaction.

Our confidential online platform provides a safe space to address relationship issues and work towards a fulfilling partnership.

Remote therapy, also known as online therapy or online psychological counseling, offers couples the convenience of receiving counseling in their own comfortable space, often leading to increased openness. Real-time feedback from therapists while practicing communication techniques or conflict resolution strategies enhances the effectiveness and personalization of therapy. Building trust with the therapist and maintaining a strong commitment to the process are essential for achieving long-lasting results.

The Psychological Counseling and Therapy Process

Step 1: Choose a Therapist & Schedule an Appointment

A strong therapeutic alliance is crucial for effective therapy. While therapists possess unique skills, building trust and rapport with your therapist is essential for progress. If you don't like the therapist treating you or are concerned about being judged, you won't be able to share your deepest thoughts and feelings or admit to any negative behaviors. But if you can't share these things, you also won't understand the core of the issue, so you won't be able to absorb the necessary insights to create positive change.

The relationship with the therapist is called the "therapeutic alliance" - it is the key factor determining the effectiveness of the therapy for each individual. When choosing a therapist, consider factors such as their experience, therapeutic approach, availability, and whether their personality aligns with your preferences. Factors like gender, age, or religion might also influence your comfort level but are less critical than finding a therapist with whom you can connect:

  • Gender: Do you think you would feel more comfortable sharing with a man, woman, or non-binary person?
  • Age: Do you want to work with someone older, younger, or around your own age?
  • Religion: Do you care about the therapist's religious beliefs?

Building a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for successful therapy. Therapists who demonstrate warmth, genuineness, and empathy are more likely to foster trust and rapport with clients. Therefore, you can consider the first meeting as an opportunity for you to sense the therapist.

The availability of psychiatrists and psychologists is shown on the system, in case their work schedule is not fixed or if the observed vacancy is not suitable, you can message our care team to be rescheduled.

In the registration steps, you need to enter information describing the problems you are facing, about your childhood, medical history, family, and any previous mental health treatment history, and list your expectations when receiving counseling, so that the specialist can be better prepared and the counseling session will have a clearer direction.

Step 2: The First Session

Most psychological counseling sessions should be conducted in the form of a video call, lasting from 40 to 60 minutes. You should choose a private, comfortable space with a stable internet connection during the counseling session. If using WiFi, note that the connection speed may be affected if multiple people are accessing the internet at the same time.

You can connect through a mobile app or a computer with a webcam and microphone - don't forget to test the buttons and features before the actual counseling session begins.

In the first session, the therapist may explain the workings of the therapy, provide information about confidentiality. You may then be asked about the issues or symptoms you are experiencing and the treatment goals. The therapist may ask again about your childhood, history, family, and any previous treatment effectiveness - if any. This is because they need to get a comprehensive understanding of you.

Step 3: Monitoring and Adjustment

  • Therapy is often a journey that involves multiple sessions to achieve lasting change. You should keep track of your changes between counseling sessions so that the therapist can closely monitor and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Psychotherapy is not a complete solution to your personal issues. It is a process that helps you build positive habits and ways of thinking. If you find yourself reverting to old thought patterns, don't be too hard on yourself.
  • You and the therapist will set milestones for change, which means you will be allowed to make mistakes, and you won't have to start over from the beginning after each setback. Everyone can move forward - imperfectly.
  • If you are given homework assignments, make sure you understand the goals clearly and discuss them openly to ensure they fit your individual circumstances. This means applying the tools learned in therapy sessions to your daily life. This is the best way to see your own progress.
  • If you're unsure what to do between sessions, ask the therapist about helpful ways you can practice outside of the counseling sessions.
  • Be prepared by keeping notes throughout the week before your next session so you and the therapist will have plenty to discuss about your thoughts and experiences.
  • Therapy should be a truly safe space for you. You don't have to feel obligated to share what happens in your sessions with others if you don't want to.
  • Therapy can be painful, clarifying, and transformative. Remember to "give yourself a break". Understand that the therapy process is not something that happens overnight, even though many people may mistakenly hope and expect it to be. Like many things in life, therapy is a long-term process of learning, maturing, and making small changes.
